The Carpathian Euroregion Organization was established on February 1993 by an agreement signed in Debrecen (Hungary) by regional government bodies of border regions of Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Ukraine. In 1997 Rumania jointed the organization. It includes now 14 neighbouring provinces of these countries, with territory almost 150,000 sq.km and population of 15 million. The aim of the Organization is to facilitate cross-border cooperation among its members and to coordinate the activities in economics, sport, protection of environment, science, tourism, education. The aim of the CERECO conferences (the CERECO-94 was held in Uzhgorod, Ukraine, the CERECO-97, CERECO-2000 and CERECO-2003 conferences were held in Miskolc, Hungary) is to facilitate solving the environmental problems of the Carpathian Euroregion, to bring together scientists, professionals, law-makers and politicians from different countries, to establish transborder cooperation in the field of environmental monitoring and protection.
The CERECO-2014 will be held on March 26-28, 2014, in Beregovo, Transcarpathia, Ukraine as a part of „Rakoczi days” commemorating the beginning of the upraise and fight for freedom of Hungary under leadership of Prince II. Ferenc Rakoczi in early XVIII. century that started in this region.

Subject areas

The Conference will be devoted to general and regional problems of the environmental protection, in particular:
- disposal and treatment of municipal and hazardous wastes,
- modern water and soil treatment and remediation methods,
- biotechnology in the environmental protection,
- methods for treatment of disasters in transbordary zones,
- monitoring of the environment,
- environmental biology, medicine, education and law,
Special attention will be paid on the monitoring and protection of surface waters respecting the Carpathian region.

Session and languages

Oral and poster sessions will be organized. The official languages will be English (in the event of demonstrative materials in English) Hungarian, Russian, Ukrainian.

Book of Abstracts of the conference will be published by the opening ceremony. Also the Proceedings of the Conference will be published after the event. The authors are kindly invited to send the one-page abstract and registration form to the above address until January 1, 2014. Call for papers

The Organizing Committee invites you to attend the Conference and submit paper*poster proposals on the subject areas mentioned for consideration.

An International Scientific Committee will evaluate the proposals solely on the basis of the one-page abstract which must clearly state the results and indicate the form of presentation together with the name, complete address, telephone, email and fax numbers of the corresponding author. Reviews are also welcome. Abstracts should be presented in English (exceptionally in Hungarian or Ukrainian/Russian) and sent to the Scientific Secretariat of the Conference:

Conference fee

Tentatively the conference fee will be 150 EUR that includes participation at the technical sessions, materials of the conference, full board for the period of March 26 –28, conference dinner and accommodation in a shared double room for March 25, 26 and 27 as well as transportation services.

Cultural Program

Excursions to the famous Mukachevo historical castle, city of Uzhgorod and Uzhgorod castle, wine cellars in Beregovo area, and mineral bath will be organized.
